    The HR Department is looking for a Training Coordinator. This is a 40- hour flexible position that does require travel to In Flight locations when needed. (Throughout Ulster and Columbia Counties). The position is based out of RED HOOK.

    Training Coordinator will organize internal training efforts to develop an organized, consistent training track that could be used throughout the agency by various departments. Additionally, they will collaborate with other local nonprofit social service agencies such as the Mid-Hudson Training Consortium (MHTC) and the Regional Centers for Workforce Transformation (RCWT) through monthly/bi-monthly meetings. Training will include, but not be limited to, courses mandated by the state of NY and OPWDD. These regular educational sessions include CPR, First Aid, Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention - Revised (SCIP-R), Mandated Reporter Training, HIPAA, Sexual Harassment, etc.  Will plan, design, and conduct training programs for staff by designing, developing, and providing appropriate training. They ensures licensing standards are met and that staff are trained in areas related to professionalism, job duties, and knowledge related to agency mission and goals. This position reports directly to Associate Director of Human Resources.

    Responsibilities:

    • Works in conjunction with Human Resources, contracted trainers, and other presenters from different departments (Quality Assurance, Finance, Clinical, Nursing, Information Technology, etc.) to schedule new hire orientation.
    • Develops annual training calendar of all required initial and refresher trainings. Looks for new and relevant trainings that can be incorporated into agency needs and future growth.
    • Will adjust schedule on orientation off days to observing staff on shift.
    • Tracks 90 day on the job training checklist and works with Managers to provide additional training in line with DSP Competencies.
    • Works with the Nursing department to help coordinate the AMAP training schedule and notifies staff accordingly. Files and logs annual re-certification dates for AMAP through the ADP Learning systems and tracks annual pour dates in coordination with the nursing department.
    • Maintains and tracks all training certificates in HR system, ADP Learning, and keeps hard files.
    • Works with outside consultants, as needed, to coordinate trainings and recertification classes in a timely fashion.
    • Collaborate with the clinical department on BSPs in regard to SCIP and will assist as needed for crisis situations.  
    • Other duties as requested by Associate Director of Human Resources or Executive Director.

     Qualifications:

    • Associates Degree preferred or High School Diploma/GED

    Requirements:

    • Knowledge of OPWDD updated regulations
    • Experience working with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
    • Experience in training orientations
    • Must be a certified CPR/First Aid Instructor, or become certified
    • Must be certified to teach Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention - Revised (SCIP-R), or become certified, and willing to become Master Trainer through OPWDD process.
    • Must be familiar with person centered planning and values in regard to the Personal Outcome Measures® (POMs).
    • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
    • Knowledge of Therap
